Boy meets girl. Boy likes girl. Boy and girl become best friends who date each other as a social experiment. This is not your typical love story, but it is the one of Timothy Goodman and Jessica Walsh.

Merely one month after signing with evil agency overlords CAA, the duo that made you hate love have sold the movie rights to their 40 Days of Dating blog to Warner Brothers. Upon signing with the Death Star, blog co-creator Timothy Goodman made repeat assurances to me in that he and co-creator Walsh would not just be selling out simply for the sake of the entertainment business coming knocking, yet here we are in a little over a month. After a whirlwind tour of television and movie studios, the notoriously on-again off-again best friends decided the feature route was the best way to go, despite a seminal 40 Days rom-com a lready existing miss you Josh Hartnett!
The deal was “chased down” by Warners Brother VP Sarah Schechter who will hopefully develop this project with all the contrived angst it mined over the course of the blog rollout. Curse me all you want for approaching this development deal with a bitterness only rivaled by Goodman’s disdain for Walsh’s feelings over the course of the 40 day experiment, but when you take a multi-week break from putting up posts on the site you’re trying to sell simply because you’re too busy trying to sell it, it’s hard to believe that your sale isn’t just a complete sell-out.
I was into the blog until they went on a break. Then it just all went to hell. The whole thing is gross. Related Blogs. Featured Replies All Replies. The following replies are approved. To see additional replies that are pending approval, click Show Pending.

Did anything interesting happen? Truthfully, I am quite nervous. However, I know that when an opportunity scares me, I must go for it. No matter what the outcome, it will certainly be an interesting experience. Hopefully we can have some fun along the way, too. Did you learn anything new about Timothy?

So you may or may not have heard of the 40 Days of Dating project. Spend time with your project every day anywhere from minutes. In lieu of seeing a couples therapist, choose a book or some sort of tutorial to improve your craft or help you do your best work. Spend at least one hour a week on this. In Dear Diary fashion, create and take a daily questionnaire or write in a journal.
You can include whatever questions you think would be beneficial. Go on a weekend trip choose a weekend to get away and spend all your time with your project. No cheating no spending time on other things, including other projects. As you may know, when it comes to my creative projects, I suffer from Shiny Wrapper Syndrome. My weekend bender will take place on March 7—March 8.
Be specific. Just like you would schedule a specific time, place, and something cool to do on your date, set time in advance and decide on what aspect of the project you will be working on during that time. Hold yourself accountable.

Walsh talked to us about the ideas, the designs and the aftermath of one of the most talked about projects in recent years. After 40 days went viral, we were approached by numerous editors and publishers who wanted us to write a book. We went sure if it made sense to make the blog into a book format unless there was significant new content. After everything, the number one question we received from fans was: What happened after Day 40?
This was a real labor of love for us. One of the most rewarding and surprising aspects of the result of releasing the blog was that we connected to people and started a dialogue about love and relatinoships Ultimately, we knew that our stories and issues were not unlike a lot of people’s issues. As creative people, we love the process of making something provocative that could potentially inspire and touch people.
